20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage

Magic Kingdom's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage opened on 14 October 1971 with a fleet of twelve Nautilus-style submarines built for the park's 11.5-million-gallon Fantasyland lagoon. The 20-minute voyage passed sea serpents, a giant squid attack and the lost city of Atlantis. High maintenance costs led to its closure on 5 September 1994; the lagoon site now holds Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid.
