Congo Rapids

Congo Rapids is a river rapids ride at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, built by Intamin and opened on 16 June 1981 at a reported cost of about $5 million. Themed to a jungle river expedition, it sends twelve-person circular rafts along a whitewater channel of roughly 1,440 feet. Riders must be at least 42 inches tall to ride unaccompanied. It followed closely behind Intamin's first rapids ride, Thunder River, which debuted at Six Flags AstroWorld in 1980.
