De Vliegende Hollander

De Vliegende Hollander is a water coaster at Efteling in Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands. It opened in 2007. The park chose a new builder on the coaster and water ride-scene, namely Kumbak. Although this company was a spinoff from well known builder Vekoma, they needed to start at zero for the engineering of the ride. And where the Efteling originally wanted free flowing boats, Kumbak eventually chose for a track through the whole ride.  After a long building period, where even Intamin had to come in to change the lift hill, the ride eventually opened on June 17 2007. 

Since the opening, the Efteling has added and altered quite a few details to the dark ride part of the ride, like more theming to the lift hill and a new scene in front of it.
