Discovery River Boats

Discovery River Boats was a slow boat ride that circled the Discovery River at Disney's Animal Kingdom, departing from Safari Village, now Discovery Island. It opened with the park on 22 April 1998, using natural-gas-powered boats carrying up to 62 riders on an 18-minute narrated cruise. The tour offered views of the park's landscaping and surrounding lands as an introduction to the park's theming. It proved short-lived, closing on 21 August 1999.
