El Rio del Tiempo

El Rio del Tiempo ("The River of Time") was a boat-canal dark ride in the Mexico pavilion of EPCOT's World Showcase, opening with the park on 1 October 1982. The eight-minute journey carried guests past scenes celebrating Mexican history and culture, accompanied by a recurring theme song, and was designed by Walt Disney Imagineering. Its working title during development was The Three Cultures of Mexico, reflecting a progression from Aztec civilisation through the colonial era to modern times. The attraction closed on 2 January 2007 and was reimagined as Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros.
