Escape from Pompeii

Escape from Pompeii is a shoot-the-chute in the Italy area of Busch Gardens Williamsburg, manufactured by Swiss company Intamin. It opened in 1995, theming a leisurely boat tour of ancient Roman ruins that turns explosive as Mount Vesuvius erupts around the boats. The ride stands 50 feet tall with a 49-foot final drop along a course of roughly 900 feet. Boats carry up to 20 passengers on a trip of nearly two and a half minutes.
