The Great Expectations Boat Ride was the centrepiece of Dickens World in Chatham when it opened in May 2007, taking six-seat boats through the sewers and streets of Victorian England, with a small drop that left riders damp.

The boat ride was removed in 2013 and the area became a walking tour; the whole attraction closed in October 2016.
