Jurassic Island

Jurassic Island is a dinosaur-themed water ride inside the indoor Trans Studio Cibubur theme park in Depok, on the edge of Jakarta. It opened with the park in 2019.

The ride is an Immersive Superflume, a special version of the log flume developed by British company Simworx together with their partner Interlink, who supplied the ride hardware. Simworx added the part that makes it unique: an immersive tunnel on the route, combined with 3D images for the projection screens. The custom film for those screens was created by Falcon's Creative Group.

Riders board one of the 16-seat boats and travel upstream along a 300-metre course through a prehistoric jungle. Halfway through, the boat enters the immersive tunnel, where it is locked onto a dynamic motion platform. All around it, a curved screen covers a 270-degree arc, projecting the custom film in which two genetically-resurrected dinosaurs do battle on their island. The on-screen action is matched by physical platform drops, dynamic lighting, surround sound and 4D effects such as wind, water spray and environmental aromas, including a rainforest scent and a special 'dino breath' aroma.

After the tunnel the ride leaves the dinosaur island and climbs a vertical lift tower with views over the indoor park, before dropping about 12 metres into the final splash pool. The ride handles roughly 780 riders per hour.
