Pirates of the Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean is a boat-based dark ride that sends guests through a series of Audio-Animatronic scenes depicting a pirate raid on a 17th–18th century Caribbean port, culminating in the famous burning-town finale. It opened at Disneyland Park in California on 18 March 1967, and was the last attraction whose construction Walt Disney personally oversaw before his death that December. It became the template for near-identical versions later built at Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris. The ride's 1967-era bride-auction scene was overhauled in 2018, replacing the auctioned women with a new pirate character named Redd.
