Pirates of the Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom is a dark boat ride following the Disneyland original's story of a pirate raid on a Caribbean settlement, told through Audio-Animatronic figures amid burning buildings, a battling fort and rowdy plundering pirates. It opened on 15 December 1973, roughly two years after Magic Kingdom's debut, because the attraction was not ready for the park's 1971 opening. The Florida version has always run entirely indoors, unlike the partly outdoor Disneyland original. Its bride-auction scene was reworked in 2018, with the auctioned figure recast as the pirate Redd.
