Rio Do Café

Rio Do Café, previously known as River Splash and Gold Rush River, is a log flume in the Mundo Amazonia area of Bellewaerde Park in Ypres, Belgium. The ride opened in 1980 and was built by Reverchon Industries, and is themed around a Brazilian river.

The course is 380 metres long with a maximum height of 12 metres, and a trip takes two minutes and 45 seconds. The logs hold six to seven riders, although five per boat is recommended for comfort; there are no restraints and capacity is about 900 riders per hour. An on-ride photo is taken during the descent. Riders must be at least 120 cm tall, and children between 90 and 120 cm must be accompanied by an adult.

In early 2015 the Buffalo Steak House beneath the flume (renamed Texas Grill in 2014) was demolished together with part of the track above it. The restaurant was rebuilt from scratch, while the section of track was put back unchanged. During the Halloween season the half-open lift hill is closed off with black plastic to create complete darkness for laser effects, the course is dressed with skeletons and fire-spitting machines stand between the station and the Texas Grill.
