Roaring Rapids

Roaring Rapids is a river rapids ride at Six Flags Over Texas, built by Swiss manufacturer Intamin and opened on 1 April 1983 at a cost of roughly $4.2 million. It replaced La Salle's River Adventure, which had operated in the same area from 1961 to 1982. Circular rafts carrying up to 12 riders run downstream through currents, waves and drops in a rugged river landscape. At the time of opening it was reported to be the largest and most expensive ride ever built at the park.
