Splash Mountain

Splash Mountain was a log flume at Magic Kingdom based on the Br'er Rabbit tales from Disney's 1946 film Song of the South, combining Audio-Animatronic scenes with a signature plunge of around 40 mph down a steep drop into a pond. It opened in Frontierland on 2 October 1992 and featured 68 Audio-Animatronic figures, more than its Disneyland counterpart. After years of criticism over the ride's association with Song of the South, Disney closed it for good on 22 January 2023. The attraction was reimagined as Tiana's Bayou Adventure, which opened on the same site in June 2024.
