Submarine Voyage

Submarine Voyage was a Tomorrowland attraction at Disneyland in which guests boarded yellow, Nautilus-style submarines for a simulated undersea journey billed as a trip through "liquid space". It opened on 14 June 1959 as part of a major Tomorrowland expansion that also brought the Matterhorn Bobsleds and the Disneyland Monorail, and was one of the park's first E-ticket attractions. The eight original submarines were painted grey and named after real US Navy nuclear submarines, each carrying a pilot and 38 passengers. It closed on 8 September 1998 after 39 years, and its lagoon lay dormant until the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage opened in 2007.
