Looney Tunes Adventure / Ice Age Adventure
Movie Park· Bottrop, Germany
Formerly: Looney Tunes Studio Tour (1996–1997); Looney Tunes Adventure (1998–2004); Ice Age Adventure (2005–2016)
A free-floating water dark ride that opened with Warner Bros. Movie World Germany on 30 June 1996 as the Looney Tunes Studio Tour, sponsored by Langnese. In 1998 it was renamed Looney Tunes Adventure. The Looney Tunes characters tried to make a movie, and the ride ended with a curved splash drop. It had 14 boats with 12 seats each and lasted about six minutes.
It was very similar to the Looney Tunes River Ride at Warner Bros. Movie World on Australia's Gold Coast.
After StarParks bought the park in 2004, the Warner Bros. themes were removed on 31 October 2004. On 19 March 2005 the ride reopened as Ice Age Adventure, reusing the ride system and most of the scenery; some Looney Tunes elements, such as a Tweety animatronic, remained hidden inside.
Ice Age Adventure closed in 2016. The building now houses Movie Park Studio Tour, an indoor roller coaster.
Built by Intamin, designed by Village Roadshow Theme Parks, with animatronics by Showtronix and installation by Anitech Systems. See also the park's other Intamin water ride, Excalibur – Secrets of the Dark Forest.
