Rip Roarin' Rapids

Rip Roarin' Rapids was an Intamin river rapids ride that operated at Carowinds from 1982 to 2019. Six-seater rafts travelled a 640-metre man-made river — built from some 3,500 cubic yards of concrete and 2,000 tons of rock — that circulated more than 36,000 gallons of water per minute. The ride stood but did not operate from its 2018 closure until demolition began in early 2025. Its former site is now home to the record-breaking Rip Roarin' Falls super flume, opening in 2027.
